INTO ALADDINS CAVE – Using the media of imagery, metaphor, clay and paints you could enter your own Cave and find your own inner genies that are waiting for you to bring them to life.
This is a free, introductory workshop to be held at Minehead Eye on Friday, 2nd March 2012 from 10am to 12pm. Please enrol to ensure a sufficient supply of materials.
Creativity is one of our greatest human qualities. It is the essence of our coming into the world and it is at the core of our being. And yet, living amongst others does mean adapting and curbing our authentic and spontaneous creativity and sometimes in ways that are unhelpful and limiting as it can mean discounting our own feelings and desires. BUT …. You could access these denied parts of your Self in the gentle and safe setting of this introductory workshop. Using the media of imagery, metaphor, clay and paints you could enter your own Cave and find your own inner genies that are waiting for you to bring them to life.
This workshop is designed to help you experience, explore and express your unique self by being creative with words, images, colours or clay. By reverting to a more primitive and immediate contact with your creative self, uninhibited by conventions, shame and the judgment of others, you can gradually access a freer, more playful and lighter self who you can grow to trust and exhibit more confidently.
You can do this within the safe and holding environment of a caring and empathic group of people on similar journeys. While this is a free, introductory workshop, we will all subscribe to the same ground rules of confidentiality, mutual respect and compassion. We will be curious but non-judgmental about our inner processes of engagement and withdrawal, finding in each a clue to a mystery yet unravelled.
